The story
About this festival.
Lake Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival is an annual grand tasting wine and music festival held each May in Chelan, Washington — featuring 25+ bands across 50 performances at 9 venues over 4 days. The 2026 edition runs May 14–17, with passes starting at $129 for a Saturday Single Day Pass and $169 for the full 4-day All Access VIP Festival Pass. The festival is organized by the Lake Chelan Music and Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has raised $103,000 to date for local schools and community organizations.
The Lake Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival structures its programming as a self-guided tour through the Lake Chelan Wine Valley, with performances rotating across winery and downtown venues including Endless Orchard, Siren Song Vineyard Estate and Winery, Vin du Lac Winery, Larc Hill Vineyard Ranch, Succession Wines, Wapato Point, and Riverwalk Pavilion. Musical styles span traditional jazz, blues, R&B, Motown, Latin jazz, and funk, with internationally acclaimed artists on the lineup. Schedules are designed with roughly 45 minutes between sets at the same venue, allowing attendees to move between multiple performances in a single day. The festival concludes Sunday, May 17, with a free-flowing afternoon at Riverwalk Pavilion featuring the Lake Chelan Jazz Band and the Ellensburg Big Band.
Both pass types include a glass of wine at check-in, a sponsor swag bag, transportation on Friday and Saturday via free shuttle, and discounts at participating local businesses and wineries. The Saturday Single Day Pass covers all Saturday performances plus shuttle access. Festival pass pickup takes place at the Lake Chelan Community Center, 103 Bighorn Way, Chelan, WA 98816. Food and wine at venues are available for purchase but are not included in the pass price. Children under 12 attend free; those 12 and older require their own pass. Passes are described as limited, and carpooling is encouraged as parking varies by venue.
Lake Chelan received its American Viticultural Area designation in 2009, making it one of Washington's more recently recognized wine regions. The area sits in Central Washington approximately 3 hours from Seattle. Net proceeds from the 2026 festival are directed to music and viticulture education programs at Chelan and Manson schools.
