The story

About this festival.

Neptune's 29th Annual Fall Wine Festival is a two-day oceanfront grand tasting in Virginia Beach, Virginia, pouring more than 60 wines from Virginia wineries at Neptune's Park on the boardwalk. Neptune's 29th Annual Fall Wine Festival runs Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday, September 12, from 12 to 5 PM, and tasting tickets start at $40. Each ticket includes a commemorative glass and tastings throughout the session, and wines can be bought by the bottle or case on site.

The pouring lineup is entirely Virginia, which makes this one of the larger single-state showcases on the East Coast calendar: the vintners themselves staff the tables, so it doubles as a meet-the-producer event. Local food trucks sell alongside (a charcuterie and fresh-fruit stand was confirmed first for both days), live entertainment runs each session, and there is a zero-proof selection of non-alcoholic wines and seltzers for those not drinking.

Pricing is tiered by purchase date rather than by day: $40 for tier 1 through March 14 or until the allotment is gone, $45 through September 5, and $50 from September 6 until sold out. Prices are the same for Friday and Saturday. A VIP reserved table is $450 and comes with 8 tickets, a table and chairs, a plant centerpiece to keep, an ice bucket with a bottle of wine and 8 waters, and a separate check-in tent. Every ticket also carries a $5 promo code toward the organizer's spring wine festival and coastal craft beer festival.

Rules are strict and enforced at the gate: 21 and over only, with no children admitted even in strollers; photo ID checked; no pets other than service animals; no wagons, beach carts or wheeled coolers; no personal tables, patio umbrellas or speakers. Chairs, blankets, small bags, shoulder-strap coolers, outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are all allowed, and bags are inspected. The festival is rain or shine with no refunds. It is produced by the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, a nonprofit that runs more than 40 community events a year.
