The story
About this festival.
Grapefest® - A Texas Wine Experience is a harvest wine festival held annually each September in Grapevine, Texas — now in its 40th year and recognized as the largest wine festival in the Southwest. The 2026 edition runs September 17–20, spanning 4 days on Historic Main Street in Grapevine, just minutes from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The festival has earned the #7 spot in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, placing it among the top 10 wine festivals in the United States.
Grapefest® - A Texas Wine Experience centers on Texas winemaking heritage while also featuring international varietals. The People's Choice Wine Tasting Classic, sponsored by Audi Grapevine, is a cornerstone event where attendees sample and vote for their favorite Texas wines — a consumer-judged format that sets it apart from standard tasting events. The Liberty Park Plaza International Wine Experience, sponsored by Gaylord Texan Resort, expands the offering to global varietals. Beyond the glass, the GrapeStomp and Champagne Cork Shoot-Off give attendees hands-on participation, while multiple live music stages and food vendors from local chefs round out the four-day program. Carnival rides and family activities are also part of the lineup.
For visitors planning their trip, the festival venue on Historic Main Street is accessible from DFW International Airport within minutes, and Grapevine's hotels, restaurants, and galleries make it easy to extend the stay. Arriving early is recommended to cover the full range of experiences. Grapevine's Urban Wine Trail — featuring local tasting rooms within or near festival grounds — is a natural complement to the main event. Elevated tasting sessions and wine-and-food pairing workshops led by experts are available for those seeking a more structured experience beyond general admission.
Grapevine, Texas takes its name from the wild mustang grapes that once grew abundantly in the area, and that heritage runs directly through Grapefest® - A Texas Wine Experience. The city's wine culture has grown into a recognized destination, with the festival now celebrating 39 years of Texas winemaking tradition alongside wines from across the globe — all within a walkable historic district.
