The story
About this festival.
Portland Seafood and Wine Festival is an annual food and wine festival held over 2 days in Portland, Oregon — featuring fresh Oregon seafood alongside pours from over 30 Oregon wineries, with general admission starting at $18. The festival takes place at the Portland Expo Center, an indoor heated venue accessible via TriMet's MAX Yellow Line, and runs Saturday noon to 9pm and Sunday noon to 5pm. Children 10 and under enter free, and tiered pricing is available for students and seniors.
Portland Seafood and Wine Festival draws together fresh Oregon seafood vendors, more than 30 Oregon wineries, craft beer and spirits producers, and local craftspeople and artists under one roof. Live entertainment runs throughout both days. A notable bonus: each festival ticket also grants admission into A Taste of Traditions: Portland's Taco, Tequila, & Tamales Festival, held simultaneously in the adjacent hall — effectively 2 events on a single ticket. All food, drink, and wine samples are sold separately by vendors on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no tokens or drink tickets; sample prices range from as low as $1 up to several dollars for premium wines, and most food and drinks fall between $2 and $15.
General admission tickets cover event entry only; all tastings are purchased independently at each vendor's booth. VIP tickets, priced at $125, include admission, reserved seating in the VIP area, complimentary glassware, and food and beverages served within the VIP area — note that VIP inclusions apply only to the VIP area, not to all vendors on the floor. Tickets are single-day passes, so attendees planning to come both days will need to purchase separately for each date. Advance tickets are available through TicketsWest; day-of prices may increase. Two ATMs are on site, and all vendors accept cash or card.
Oregon's wine industry, centered on the Willamette Valley AVA, is particularly known for Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The Portland Seafood and Wine Festival reflects this regional identity by pairing local Dungeness crab, oysters, and salmon with wines from Oregon producers, making it a practical introduction to Pacific Northwest wine and food culture for first-time visitors and returning attendees alike.
