The story
About this festival.
Spring Wine Fest At Laurita Winery is an annual grand tasting festival held each spring at Laurita Winery's 20,000-square-foot estate in New Egypt, New Jersey — a working vineyard in the Outer Coastal Plain AVA with 40 cultivated acres of estate-grown vines. Tickets are $13 online or $15 at the door, making it one of the more accessible winery festivals in central New Jersey. The event pairs Laurita's estate wines with live musical entertainment, local artisan vendors, and food options from the on-site Laurita Marketplace.
Spring Wine Fest At Laurita Winery takes place on a property with genuine agricultural character: the winery building itself spans 20,000 square feet and was constructed largely from recycled and reclaimed materials, including the frames of two 150-year-old barns. The surrounding landscape includes 40 acres of vineyards planted with Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Gris, Lemberger, Chambourcin, Norton, and Zweigelt — varieties first planted between 1998 and 2002, with the first harvest in 2003. Laurita produces 14,000 to 16,000 cases annually, all exclusive to the winery. Admission includes a souvenir Laurita wine glass, live entertainment, free surface parking, shuttle service from parking to the festival grounds, access to indoor and outdoor wine and tasting bars, and use of the property's 40 fire pits in the shaded Grove area.
Visitors should plan for a flexible, come-and-go format — gates open at 11 a.m. and there are no set arrival requirements. Chairs, blankets, and tents are permitted and encouraged. Outside food and beverages are not allowed; the Laurita Marketplace offers cheese platters and other food options, and artisan vendors display hand-crafted merchandise throughout the grounds. Most vendors accept credit cards, but not all, so bringing cash is advisable. An ATM is on-site. Supervised children are welcome, and the property includes a kid's playground.
Laurita Winery sits within the Outer Coastal Plain AVA, a New Jersey wine region recognized for its ability to ripen classic European Vinifera varieties. The winery's philosophy centers on estate-grown, sustainably farmed fruit, with production focused on expressing varietal character rather than weight or extraction — a style that suits outdoor festival tasting well.
