The story

About this festival.

Independence Uncorked Wine Festival is a grand tasting of Missouri wine held on the grounds of the Bingham-Waggoner Estate in Independence, Missouri, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1 to 6 PM. The 13th annual edition brings more than 20 Missouri wineries pouring several wines each, plus a guest spirits distiller, wine classes, art, live music, beer and food booths, and the organizers expect more than 2,000 attendees, which puts it among the largest wine festivals in the state.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door and include a wine glass and a wine bag for the first 2,000 guests. Attendance is capped, everyone entering must be 21 or older, and the event runs rain or shine with no refunds. Bring lawn chairs; outside food and drink are not allowed but food is sold on site. The festival is hosted by the Rotary Club of Eastern Independence and all proceeds go to local, regional and international charities. The estate itself is an 1852 mansion once owned by the Missouri painter George Caleb Bingham, a short drive east of Kansas City.
