The story
About this festival.
Steins & Vines is an annual grand tasting event held each summer in Rockland, Maine — part of the Maine Lobster Festival grounds — featuring Maine-made and Maine-distributed beers, wines, ciders, and spirits across 4 ticketed sessions over 2 days. Tickets are $40 and include 12 tastings plus a commemorative tasting glass. The event runs Wednesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 30, with sessions from 2:00–3:30 p.m. and 4:00–5:30 p.m. each day. All attendees must be 21 or older and present a valid photo ID.
Steins & Vines is held inside the Entertainment Tent on the Maine Lobster Festival grounds, giving it a lively outdoor-festival character while keeping the tasting experience contained and organized. The event focuses exclusively on Maine producers, spotlighting the state's craft beverage scene in one place. Past participants have included Cellardoor Winery, Winterport Winery, Dragonfly Farm and Winery, Willows Awake Winery, Penobscot Bay Brewing, Atlantic Brewing Company, Bissell Brothers, Downeast Cider, and more than a dozen additional Maine breweries and cideries. The lineup spans wine, beer, and hard cider, making it one of the broader all-Maine craft beverage tastings in the region.
Each $40 ticket covers 12 pours and a keepsake tasting glass. Sessions are 90 minutes long, and tickets are sold per session — so choosing your preferred time slot matters. No refunds or exchanges are offered, so confirm your availability before purchasing. The strict 21+ age requirement is enforced at the tent entrance; no exceptions are made for minors accompanying adults.
Maine's craft wine scene is small but growing, with producers like Cellardoor and Dragonfly drawing on cold-hardy grape varieties and fruit wines suited to the state's northern climate. Steins & Vines offers a practical way to survey that output alongside Maine's more established craft beer and cider producers, all within the larger context of one of the state's longest-running summer festivals.
