The story
About this festival.
Wine Festival Of Colorado Springs is an annual charity grand tasting festival held each March in Colorado Springs, Colorado — now in its 34th year, it is the longest-running wine festival in Southern Colorado. Founded in 1992 at the Colorado Springs' School, the inaugural event raised $16,000 from a modest Grand Tasting and small wine auction, surpassing organizers' expectations by over 50%. Every ticket sold benefits the Colorado Springs Conservatory, a nonprofit performing arts organization serving young artists in the community.
The 2026 edition, themed "The Wines of South America," runs March 4–7 and spans 4 days of ticketed events across multiple Colorado Springs venues. The schedule includes a cocktail class with live music, a Premium Wines of South America seminar, a Riedel glass seminar with a crystal glass set included, a winemaker-guided tasting session, a wine and cheese pairing seminar, a Grand Tasting social at The Broadmoor's Bartolin Hall, and a five-course Gala Dinner with live auction at The Broadmoor's Lake Terrace Room. Past themes have spotlighted wines from New Zealand, Northern Italy, Spain, Portugal, Southern France, and California's Central Coast, with featured winemakers attending from those regions each year.
The Grand Tasting and Gala Dinner carry a "Dress to Impress" dress code, while the Riedel seminar is business casual — details worth noting before packing. The festival operates rain, snow, or shine with no weather cancellations or refunds. Guests staying at The Broadmoor can access a discounted room rate of $250 per night by calling (888) 293-9311 and referencing Wine Festival 2026; availability is limited. At least 2 of the 2026 events — the Cocktail Class and Winemaker Luncheon — were already sold out at the time of publication, so early ticketing is advisable.
Colorado Springs sits at roughly 6,000 feet elevation in El Paso County, east of the Rocky Mountains. The city has no major wine AVA of its own, which is precisely why the Wine Festival Of Colorado Springs has built its identity around spotlighting a different international wine region each year — giving attendees structured access to winemakers and wines they would be unlikely to encounter locally.
