The story
About this festival.
San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival is a multi-day food and wine convergence festival held annually in San Diego, California — now in its 22nd year, it drew 11,000 attendees in 2025 and has been named Best Wine Festival in the nation by USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice for two consecutive years, 2023 and 2024. The festival spans November 1–8, 2026, with its signature Grand Weekend running November 6–8 across multiple ticketed events at venues including the Port of San Diego's Embarcadero Marina Park North.
The San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival is structured around 3 flagship events across its Grand Weekend. Icons + Legends on Friday, November 7 opens the weekend with luxury wines, spirits, and award-winning chefs. The Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 8 runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Embarcadero Marina Park North and features 300+ participating tastemakers and purveyors along the San Diego Bay. Grand Fiesta on Sunday, November 9 centers on cross-border Latin American culinary and cultural influence, a programming focus that reflects San Diego's proximity to Baja California. The 2025 edition featured 56 brand activations and a lineup that included multiple Michelin-starred chefs, James Beard Award winners and nominees, and a Wine Enthusiast 40 Under 40 honoree.
All San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival events are all-inclusive once inside the venue — tastings are provided at no additional charge within each ticketed area. VIP ticket-holders receive access to VIP tents and exclusive tastings not available to general admission attendees. Tickets are non-refundable but fully transferable to any attendee 21 or older with valid ID. The festival is strictly 21+; no children or pets are permitted. Organizers strongly recommend rideshare over driving. Bags are restricted to small purses, totes, and drawstring bags; backpacks are prohibited and all bags are searched at entry.
San Diego's position on the California–Baja California border gives the festival a culinary profile that few U.S. food and wine events can replicate. Cross-border Baja Med cuisine — which blends Mediterranean techniques with Baja ingredients — is a recurring theme, and the festival's programming actively involves the Consulate of Mexico in San Diego and the Baja California Tourism Board. That binational identity, combined with San Diego's coastal food culture and access to Southern California and Mexican wine regions, shapes the festival's distinctly regional character.
