The story
About this festival.
Auction Napa Valley is a multi-day charity auction and grand tasting event held annually in Napa, California — the 2026 edition runs June 4–6 and is priced at $5,000 per guest for the complete weekend package. Organized by Collective Napa Valley, the event draws collectors, vintners, and industry figures across three days of intimate dinners, barrel tastings, and a live auction finale. Previous editions have raised figures including $4.8 million and $3.8 million, with proceeds directed toward youth mental health and health and wellness programs in Napa County.
The weekend follows a structured three-day format across multiple iconic Napa Valley venues. Thursday opens with Vintner-Hosted Welcome Dinners at private wineries and homes. Friday's Napa Valley Barrel Auction, held from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at the Robert Mondavi Winery, gives guests the opportunity to taste and bid on lots from more than 100 vintners — many of them small-production wines tasted publicly for the first time. Friday evening continues with a second round of intimate Vintner-Hosted Dinners. The weekend concludes Saturday at the Inglenook estate with the Live Auction and Dinner Celebration beginning at 4:30 PM. The 2026 event will include a lifetime achievement award for Robin Lail, recognized for her role in founding Auction Napa Valley and more than four decades of participation.
The $5,000 complete weekend package is non-refundable and covers all four signature events: the Thursday welcome dinner, the Friday barrel auction, the Friday vintner dinner, and the Saturday live auction and celebration. Guests select their dinner preference during checkout. For questions, the organizer contact is Kim Zuver at kzuver@napavintners.com or 707.968.4229. Individual event tickets and pricing for other access tiers are listed as TBA for 2026.
Napa Valley is home to some of California's most recognized wine appellations, producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay from estates that have shaped the region's international reputation. Auction Napa Valley is structured specifically around the collectibility of these wines — barrel lots represent vintages not yet released to the public, making the auction a rare point of access for serious buyers. The 2026 event highlights the 2024 Napa Valley vintage, described in source materials as classically exceptional.
