The story

About this festival.

The 27th Annual Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival is a grand tasting wine festival held annually in Philo, California, spanning four days from June 12–15, 2026, with nearly 50 producers pouring across a full weekend of events in the Anderson Valley AVA. Now in its 27th year, the festival is organized by the Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association and takes place along the 15 miles of vineyards that line Highway 128 in Mendocino County, approximately 110 miles northwest of San Francisco.

The 27th Annual Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival is structured around several distinct events across the weekend. Friday features a Vineyard Seminar focused on sustainable farming alongside a Sunset BBQ. Saturday's centerpiece is the signature Grand Tasting, where nearly 50 producers pour Pinot Noir, sparkling wine, rosé, and white wines. The weekend also includes gourmet food pairings, a silent auction, and winemaker-led vineyard and cellar tours. Sunday extends the experience with VIP Winery Open Houses at participating wineries. The festival is the only one of its kind set directly among the vineyards of Anderson Valley, giving it a setting distinct from urban or fairground-based events.

Ticket prices for the 27th Annual Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival have not yet been announced — GA, VIP, and designated driver pricing are all listed as TBA. Lodging in the valley is limited, and the festival's own materials advise reserving accommodations early. Volunteers are also accepted, with event entrance offered as an incentive.

Anderson Valley is a certified cool-climate AVA with 2,457 planted acres and 62 wineries, averaging just 53°F. The region built its reputation on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Alsatian varieties, and its ocean-cooled mornings and warm afternoons produce the slow ripening that Pinot Noir demands. The Pinot Noir Festival, first held in 1997, reflects nearly three decades of the valley's emergence as a serious Pinot Noir appellation.
