About This Festival
This Crescent City tradition brings together hundreds of celebrated chefs, winemakers, and culinary enthusiasts for five delightful days of tasting events at the New Orleans Convention Center. The New Orleans Wine & Food Experience features over 150 wineries pouring more than 1,000 wines, alongside local restaurants like Galatoire's, Commander's Palace, and Dooky Chase serving signature dishes that highlight the city's unique culinary heritage. During the Grand Tastings, visitors can sample wines from vintners like Robert Mondavi, Louis Latour, and Beringer while enjoying live jazz performances from local favorites like Kermit Ruffins and his Barbecue Swingers. The festival typically welcomes over 7,000 attendees who participate in wine seminars, cooking demonstrations, and the popular Royal Street Stroll where participants enjoy wine tastings at antique shops and art galleries in the French Quarter. One of the festival's most distinctive features is the Vinola Tasting, which showcases rare and high-end wines valued at over $75 per bottle, paired with dishes from the city's most renowned chefs. The event culminates with the Tournament of Rosés, where attendees taste and vote on their favorite rosé wines while enjoying passed hors d'oeuvres and views of the Mississippi River from the Convention Center's riverfront terrace.
